Who is a good candidate for LASIK?

Candidates must be 18 or older, have had little to no prescription change within one to two years, be in good general and eye health, and have realistic expectations. An eye exam is the best way to know.

Does the LASIK procedure hurt?

There is almost no pain involved with LASIK, though some patients find it slightly uncomfortable. Anesthetic drops numb the eye just before surgery.

How long does LASIK take?

The LASIK procedure usually takes less than 15 minutes in the operating room. The actual laser treatment time is only seconds.

What is LASIK recovery like?

Vision is blurry immediately after surgery. Most patients see quite well the following day and may resume most normal activities after their one-day post-operative visit.
