I had cataracts in both eyes and astigmatism so bad in one eye that glasses could not correct it. So I turned to the experienced team at Southern Eye to fix my vision. My surgeon recommended the new Toric implants for me, which made me the recipient of a great miracle! Now I get up in the morning and do not have to reach for glasses, for the first time in 45 years. I can see things as they are and not as my old glasses let me see them. I live on Poinsett Lake and can now fully enjoy seeing the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The colors are now magnificent, bold and beautiful. I have had a great time shopping for regular sunglasses, something I had never been able to do before. After years of paying high prices for glasses, I now simply use a cheap pair of reading glasses only for super fine print. I was apprehensive at the prospect of having Toric lens implant surgery. From my perspective, the staff and surgical team did a very effective job. I received the vision I had hoped for – excellent distant and close-up vision; no more astigmatism; no future cataracts; and essentially permanent eyesight. No doubt some people think that one has to go to a city larger than Jonesboro – Little Rock or Memphis, for example – in order to receive excellent eye surgery. In my mind, Eye Surgery Center of Arkansas sets a similar standard of excellence for Jonesboro and the surrounding region. I wore glasses for 52 of my 60 years. I am thrilled at knowing that I will never have to wear glasses again. Moreover, I’m happy that the eyes I now have will be my eyes for the long term. I commend the entire staff at Eye Surgery Center of Arkansas for their professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness, and ultimately, for the skill with which they treated me as a patient and client.

I am in the business of helping people see better. When LASIK became available, I researched the procedure professionally and personally. Although I had been successful with contact lenses, the freedom of being able to see without them was very appealing. My successful LASIK was done in 2000.
