Dear Dr. Landry and Staff,
I have been so excited about my improved vision since my LASIK procedure. Please allow me to share my experience with other patients that are considering this procedure.
During the summer of 1998, I had decided that I was ready to get rid of the contacts and glasses. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Landry in the fall. He decided that I would be an excellent candidate for the laser surgery, but if I would wait just a few more months, the LASIK procedure would be available. After discussing the benefits, I decided to wait.
At last, my day came on March 31, 1999. I was so apprehensive, but yet excited. It turned out that I was the third patient that Dr. Landry had done in his office. Since this was new to Jonesboro, the office was full of excitement. There were several doctors and family members observing by using a television screen.
The whole procedure was over almost before I realized that it had begun. My parents drove me home, and after I took a short nap, I was watching television four hours after surgery without any visual aids. By the next morning, Dr. Landry checked my vision - 20/15...better that I had hoped! My vision has not varied from this for a year and a half.
Last summer I was able to drive in New York, reading all the signs myself. Before, I had trouble reading a map, then trying to focus on street signs.
The most enjoyable part of the whole procedure is that I can see perfectly anytime, whether at the pool, work, or when I wake up in the middle of the night. I cannot explain the freedom I have after 36 years of glasses and contacts. I can personally recommend this procedure for anyone that qualifies. You will have virtually no pain and improved vision for the rest of your life.
